The Women Build Project of Habitat for Humanity
The Women Build program was established by Habitat for Humanity International to encourage the participation of women in the construction of Habitat homes. Through Lowe’s underwriting of the Women Build program, Habitat affiliates are able to address the issue of affordable housing.
Women Build projects provide an environment in which women can feel safe and comfortable learning skills they might not have the opportunity to otherwise learn.
While women building together offers tremendous empowerment and sense of accomplishment - the benefits go beyond the individuals to transform the lives of families and their communities.
Women Build projects bring together women from all walks of life to actively address the problem of children and families living in sub-standard housing.
Women crews have already built more than 800 Habitat for Humanity homes within the United States, and they are now building in more than a dozen countries.
